CAMSED is delighted to welcome Dr. Jason Hickel, one of the UK’s most prominent degrowth theorists and author of ‘Less is More: How Degrowth Will Save the World’. In this timely and topical event, Dr Hickel will discuss the capitalist development model and the degrowth movement in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. He will explore how the degrowth movement can promote structural change towards a world which is more equal, sustainable and inclusive. This is an opportunity to hear from a leading expert on one of the most pressing and interesting debates in economics and political economy today: What comes next after capitalism? The event will run from 18:30-20:00 on Wednesday 27th January, with an hour-long talk and a half hour Q&A.
